Project entitled „Choose the Future for the Family” (project number: RPZP.07.06.00-32-K115/21) is implemented by the Science for the Environment Foundation in cooperation with Białogard County and the County Family Assistance Center in Białogard. The project will be implemented in the field of developing family support and foster care services in the period from 01.03.2021 to 31.10.2023.
The project is implemented in the following counties of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship:
– Koszalin County
– Sławno County
– Kołobrzeg County
– Świdwin County
– Białogard County
The main goal of the planned project activities relates to increasing the availability of social services: family support and foster care services for people at risk of poverty and/or social exclusion.
This project envisages:
– preventive actions aimed at limiting the placement of children in foster care;
– activities leading to the abandonment of institutional care, i.e. care provided in care and educational institutions for more than 14 people to services provided in the local community through the creation of family forms of foster care and family-type care and educational institutions for up to 8 children and care and educational institutions of a socialization, specialist-therapeutic or intervention type for up to 14 people;
– comprehensive support in the process of emancipating foster children or care and educational institutions or foster children of family children’s homes,
– supported apartments (2 apartments) – equipment/additional equipment costs, fixed apartment maintenance fees (including utilities), fees and services provided to apartments, services (e.g. care, support, advisory),
– financial assistance for social active integration services, which aim to acquire, restore or strengthen social competences, resourcefulness, independence and social activity,
– professional active integration services in the non-formal and informal education system,
– building socio-cultural competences in a natural open environment (participation in cultural, sports, educational events in stationary or off-site form),
– courses, training, coaching;
– training candidates for foster families, for those running family children’s homes (including activities aimed at acquiring new candidates) and improving people providing family foster care, including for people providing family foster care for children with disabilities;
– supporting families in fulfilling care and educational roles in order to improve parenting skills, prevent children from being placed in foster care and to enable children in foster care to return to biological families;
– development of family counseling and specialized family counseling:
– psychological and pedagogical counseling aimed at strengthening parenting competences, improving parent-child relations, supporting child development
– legal counseling,
– activities that intend to resolve problems whose source lies in the way the family functions and the type of family ties;
– campaign – social spots supporting and promoting family foster care, posters and leaflets
