Improving the Quality of General Education in Koszalin
The Koszalin City Commune, the Science for the Environment Foundation, and the „Institute of Positive Education” Foundation Consortium are implementing the project entitled „Program for Improving the Quality of General Education in Koszalin.” The project has received funding from the European Social Fund Plus under Measure 6.9 of the European Funds for West Pomerania Program for 2021-2027. The undertaking will be implemented until the end of 2025 (implementation period: February 1, 2024 – December 31, 2025). The project is being implemented by 9 general education schools run by the Koszalin City Commune:

- Primary School No. 6
- Primary School No. 7
- Primary School No. 10
- Primary School No. 17
- Primary School No. 18
- 1st General Education Lyceum
- 6th General Education Lyceum.
The target group of the project consists of students and teachers of the schools covered by the support.
Project Goal:
To improve the quality and accessibility of 9 general education schools in Koszalin by December 31, 2025, through:
- Providing at least 3060 students with support in developing key competences through the implementation of comprehensive programs for individualizing work with students with special educational needs, psychological and pedagogical support, conducting classes developing talents, ICT competences, and applying experiment-based learning.
- Offering educational and career guidance to students in grades III and IV of general education lyceums and grades VII-VIII of primary schools.
- Professional development of 453 (387 female, 66 male) teachers in the areas of applying teaching individualization, developing their digital competences, applying effective teaching methods, providing psychological and pedagogical assistance, working with students with special educational needs, developing key competences, ICT tools, shaping students’ green competences, inclusiveness, and equal treatment.
- Equipping subject laboratories for the needs of experiment-based learning.
- Improving conditions for inclusive education.
The project plans to implement a range of activities aimed at, among others, students struggling with learning difficulties and students with special educational needs who require targeted support. In addition, the project is aimed at teachers who will improve their competences and qualifications within the project, including qualifications in working with students with specific educational needs and disabilities. Equipment, including equipment for inclusive education, will be purchased for the schools.
Planned Results:
- At least 2754 students covered by the support will acquire qualifications or key competences.
- At least 408 teachers covered by the support will obtain qualifications or acquire competences.
- At least 321 teachers covered by the support will obtain qualifications in digital competences.
- The 9 schools implementing the project will be equipped to conduct high-quality classes developing students’ key competences and to improve the quality of inclusive education.
