Improving the Quality and Accessibility of General Education in Primary Schools in the Manowo Commune
The Manowo Commune and the Science for the Environment Foundation are implementing the project entitled „Improving the Quality and Accessibility of General Education in Primary Schools in the Manowo Commune.” The project has received funding from the European Social Fund Plus under Measure 6.9 of the European Funds for West Pomerania Program for 2021-2027. The undertaking will be implemented until the end of 2025 (implementation period: January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2025). The implementers are 3 schools run by the Manowo Commune:
- Primary School named after the State Forests in Manowo
- Primary School in Bonin
- Primary School in Rosnowo named after the 26th Fighter Aviation Regiment
Project Goal:
To improve the quality and accessibility of 3 general education schools in the Manowo Commune by December 31, 2025, through:
Tasks planned in the project:
- Activities to support students – implementation of new solutions in the field of teaching methods and methodology. As part of this activity, trained teachers will introduce new didactic solutions and a new teaching methodology through the organization of Aflatoun interest groups. The groups will be run with the active participation of volunteers – parents and the socio-economic environment of the schools, focusing on educational projects.
- Direct support and equalizing educational opportunities for students from rural areas: classes for the development of socio-emotional and/or compensatory-correctional and/or speech therapy competences; pedagogical support to prevent aggression, depression, disorders – including eating disorders; career counseling for grades VII and VIII; remedial classes with elements of learning skills; organization of interest groups.
- Activities to support teachers – implementation of new solutions in the field of teaching methods and methodology – organization of workshops on inclusiveness and equal treatment, workshops on the development of social, civic, and entrepreneurial competences, and workshops on green and digital competences.
- Direct support for schools and adapting facilities for inclusive education – purchase of a mobile Biofeedback laboratory. Schools will be equipped with tablets (7 per school), projectors (3 per school), and didactic and therapeutic aids. Minor adaptation works will also be carried out, and furniture and equipment will be purchased to adapt the facilities to the needs of children with disabilities and those with opinions and rulings.
The project will benefit 180 students and 36 teachers from primary schools operating in the Manowo Commune.
